In the current implementation, the sea surface is not considered as a reflective region during the sonar simulation process, turning that particular reverberation component not present in the final acoustic image. To perform a full multipath propagation, future work should focus on including the water level (rendered by osgOcean) to simulate the sound scattering at the sea surface. As this feature can become computationally onerous, the real-time constraint of the sonar simulator must be taken into consideration.
