Keycap legend custom inset distance

As far as I can tell there is not any way to customise how deep the inset of the keycap legend goes. 
I think this would be quite useful for people simply wanting to print a key and color in the inset legend with paint or dyed superglue, rather than going through the extensive process of casting resin into the inset

Please advise how i should go about doing this, if this is not the case
