I would like the option to see my library contents organized by serries, with books within each serries in serries order.
Upon brief reflection I realize that a serries is simply a playlist. Adding playlist support would be a general solution for all users in all situations. That said, I'd still appreciate serries having first-class support using available metadata to create and maintain them.

FR: There should be both a global and per-playlist setting to control showing book number overlayed on the book thumbnail. Options should include: on/off, style, size, placement (either which corner, allow user to drag it around, etc.).
FR: Because sometimes cover art is insufficient, it would be nice if other static and placeholder text could be overlayed upon the thumbnail with styling and other options. Overlay key-frames within the playlist to allow updating settings from that book forward. Motivation: if playlists remain "flat" this feature could be used to fake giving them depth for when authors have multiple serries within a universe or on different timelines, etc.
FR: As a user I would also like to have the option to have each playlist saved to the location of my choosing. This will allow me to keep my playlists and books together and to be able to share playlists.
REQ: Playlists system must gracefully handle missing books and still be able to display basic information (title, author, etc., but not necessarily thumbnail).
Bonus points if we can have playlists of playlists so we can organize things in depth (for when authors have multiple serries within a universe or on different timelines, etc.). Even more bonus points of we can have a playlist with both books and playlists in it which we can order however we want.
