Mr. Kalle Marjola has informed me of the following feature, which was present in the original Amiga Knights, but is not (yet) implemented in this version.
The tile with this image: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sdthompson1/knights/refs/heads/main/knights_data/modules/base/gfx/haystack.bmp is meant to be a Staff Pile. A knight should be able to approach this tile and pick up a staff for free.
The staff pile never runs out - it is meant to be a source of staffs that is always available, to help with disarming traps. (It can, however, be destroyed.)
I think this is a nice feature (I wish I had known about it when I was originally playing Knights in the 1990s!), and we should implement it.
In addition, the Tutorial should be updated to teach players about the Staff Pile and how to use it.
