Hi, I'm Rodrigo 👋
I build open source software that lets you control your smart home locally, without the vendor's cloud. Many devices only work through a closed app. I reverse-engineer how they communicate, write a typed and tested SDK for that protocol, and then build a Home Assistant integration on top of it, so anyone can install it through HACS.
What I maintain
Home Assistant integrations
- ha-ttlock-ble: TTLock smart locks over Bluetooth, with local control, real-time events and battery monitoring
- ha-tplink-deco: TP-Link Deco mesh routers, using the local API with no cloud
- ha-xiaomi-vacuum: Xiaomi robot vacuums, with local control and rendered maps
- ha-neakasa-litterbox: the Neakasa M1 self-cleaning litter box, with real-time MQTT push
- ha-tuya-ble and ha-tuya-ipc-p2p: Tuya Bluetooth devices, and native P2P camera video without the cloud RTSP link
- ha-midea-dishwasher, ha-homekit-secure-video, ha-battery-card and more
SDKs behind them
Async, strictly typed libraries that anyone can reuse outside Home Assistant: tplink-deco-api, ttlock-ble, xiaomi-vacuum-sdk, neakasa-litterbox-sdk, tuya-ble-sdk, tuya-ipc-p2p-sdk, midea-dishwasher-api, fitdays-api.
Tooling for other developers
- ha-integration-blueprint: a template for HACS integrations, with config/reauth/options flows, diagnostics, repairs, strict typing and a 95% test coverage gate
- workflows: reusable GitHub Actions for HA integrations, Python SDKs, npm packages and Lovelace cards
Open data on São Paulo transit
transporte-sp is an open, auditable database of São Paulo's metro, trains, BRT and planned expansions, with the source of every field documented. I also build tools and mods that bring real Origin-Destination survey data into Subway Builder.
What your sponsorship supports
- 🛒 Buying hardware. I can't support a device I don't own. Every new lock, camera or appliance I add has to be bought and taken apart first.
- 🔍 Reverse engineering time. Working out a closed protocol takes many hours of packet captures and trial and error before any code exists.
- 🛠️ Maintenance. Keeping up with Home Assistant releases, vendor firmware changes, bug reports and CI, so the integrations you already use keep working.
Every sponsor helps keep these projects free, local and maintained. Thank you! 💙
