Combify does not work on select boxes without ID

If you do not specify id attribute in tag, choosing between options do not work, you will get this error in console instead: Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: #

Thanks for submitting this issue. I don't have time right now to look at this, but if you want to submit a pull request, I'd be happy to take a look at that. Otherwise, I can probably get to it in a couple weeks. It sounds like there's an easy workaround though, just add an id to the select tag.
