changing shortcut key

Ctrl-alt-f4 is a long way off. Isn't there a way to assign it to a single key? I want to perform quick actions. And will online games detect this as cheating or third-party software? How does it work? Is it like Task Manager?

Third-party software would need to be looking for this explicitly, but are unlikely to flag it as cheating.
