Allow hiding a quest type from the Uh... menu

Use case
When you see a quest you can't /don't want to work on, it would be convenient to be able to remove that quest type from the current Preset from the Uh... menu

Maybe it would be convenient, but it is also yet one more item in this list, more visual noise.

And basically to get offered every time you tap the "Uh…" an option to disable all quests of this type seems to be somewhat intrusive. Intrusive to those who do not want to disable this quest, but just leave a note or select another answer.

I reckon that especially new users don't want to be confronted with quests they can not (easily) answer, as they'd probably rather drop the app altogether rather than search in the settings for the quest type that they found is too difficult to answer (in their area) just then. So, I agree that it could be an improvement to offer the (new) user to disable a quest right when he has one of these open.

It must, however, be unobstrusive and ignorable easily by users who do not wish to disable the quest type. And this is a challenge.

One option would be to offer this option as a third option in the dialog that is opened on "Can't say…" where currently the user can answer "Hide" or "Leave Note". Although, a button named "Hide all of this type" might be a bit too long?

Having just "Hide this type" in the "Can't say..." menu would work well, and would probably be short enough, although I think new users might not realize that tapping "Can't say..." would reveal an option to hide that kind of quest.

Could the Hide this Type appear after X of the same type are hidden via the hide button? Also potentially just the first time that a user has seen this type?

Heh, well. Those two suggestions contradict each other.

Personally, I have never hidden a quest. (But I have disabled quests.)

Showing it only on the first time would be unexpected. "Where did that option go?" Also, maybe it is indeed not on the first time the user sees a certain quest that he decides to disable it.

hiding quest likely refers to hiding a specific quest instance (I do it occasionally), while disabling refers to disabling quest type

And with "Can't say" menu, you mean the dialog? I suppose so. Anyway, so then let's go with this solution.

• better use "disable" rather than "hide" wording, to better distinguish from hiding single quests. Also, I think this is the wording used in the settings screen

• Maybe the text in the dialog should be changed (or rather a paragraph added so the old string doesn't need to be re-translated into every language) that explain what "Disable this quest type" does? Maybe with that explanation, the button text could just be "Disable"

That checkbox would be shown in the dialog that primarily asks the user whether to leave a note. I would say the normal workflow is to leave a note, not hide the quest. So, a checkbox like that would be misplaced there, in my opinion.

It would not be misplaced in a dialog that asks about hiding the quest. But we don't have that dialog, and such a cascade of confirmation dialogs to just hide a quest seems somewhat awful.
