Invite extern people from non-tchap accounts

It seems like I can't invite extern people on Tchap, at least not from a client like Element.io/FluffyChat/… while it is supposed to be possible to invite extern people according to https://aide.tchap.beta.gouv.fr/fr/article/comment-inviter-un-externe-sur-tchap-web-1umcgx2/ I tried to invite directly a random gmail email, an existing matrix account (either by inviting it from element or by copy/pasting the invite link to the other user) without success. Any clue?

Ok, I found a workaround: first, you can create a new user with any email address via https://www.tchap.gouv.fr/, then "Créer un compte", and make sure you activate the account by clicking in the link you received by email. Then, based on the source code it basically sends a state event with eventType="im.vector.room.access_rules", stateKey="" and body='{"rule": "unrestricted"}'), that seems to be non-standard by installable via a synapse module (https://github.com/element-hq/synapse-room-access-rules). So you can generate this event manually, for instance in element.io you can do:

• Type /devtools in the room
• Then Explore room state
• Type im.vector.room.access_rules
• You should see a long json containing "rule": "restricted" above. Click on "Edit".
• Change the restricted into unrestricted and validate the change.
• Now you can add any external members as usual members: click invite and search for the name of the student you created earlier.
