Error when trying to use in Linux/Chromium

I am getting an error when trying to use the web app in Chromium on Linux. I've confirmed it works properly on Chrome/Windows11, but on Linux, I can see the device and connect, but with errors which prevents me from configuring the keyboard. However, I am use the keyboard tester without issue.

Same behavior with me. I only run Linux, so I do not have a Windows install to use to configure the keyboard with.

Ubuntu 25.05, latest firmware and all that jazz.

I tried out a local client of Via, as well as the caniusevia.com site and still no dice. Although the local client crashes and the Via website "pairs" with the keyboard and never does anything else.

+1 exactly same issue and errors in Linux. Run on Ubuntu 24.04

For workaround, I've tried instructions from this PR #256 and it works

1. Create new udev rule file in respective directory. In Ubuntu, it's on /etc/udev/rules.d
2. Write the following content

SUBSYSTEM="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="YOUR_VENDOR_ID", ATTR{idProduct}=="YOUR_PRODUCT_ID", TAG+="uaccess"
KERNEL=="hidraw*", MODE="0660", TAG+="uaccess", TAG+="udev-acl"

YOUR_VENDOR_ID = Look from the error Vid after 0x
YOUR_PRODUCT_ID = Look from the error Pid after 0x

For example, from @Jinra posts, vendor ID should be 9C12 and product ID 89F0

3. Run sudo udevadm control --reload-rules && sudo udevadm trigger command in terminal
4. Reload the Via app in the browser. Try to authorize or connect the device again.

Here I can pair the keyboard in Chrome, but the app stays at the page "Authorize device" I have super permissive UDEV rules.

I tried USB3 ports, USB2, and even an older laptop, and I even tried the app as an AppImage, they all behave the same. Keyboard is a K2HE

sudo chmod a+rw /dev/hidraw3 will give it permission to access the keeb

Giving my /dev/hidraw* files permissive permissions did not fix the issue for me, alas.

I am trying to remap a couple of keys on a Keychron V5. I have been able to pair the keyboard in VIA and load a keyboard definition file. But when I go back to the Configure tab, it just wants me to authorize the device again, which does nothing.

SER5 miniPC, running Fedora 43 (have also tried this in MX Linux environment)
