Resolution changes do not actually apply

What happened

When using the launcher (thps_p8_gui), changing the resolution settings have no effect. Going in settings.toml and changing the resolution (720p -> 1080p) also has no effect. I have tried changing it to 1080p, 1440p and 4k, and none of which work. Thank you for yet another recomp, I look forward to the development of this project.
