Feature Summary
Add a Smart Emergency Preparedness Center to the Climate Risk Results page that provides risk-specific emergency contacts, preparedness guidance, an interactive checklist, and a readiness score to help users take immediate action based on the generated climate risk analysis.
Problem Statement
Currently, Climate Shield provides detailed climate risk analysis, forecasts, alerts, and safety recommendations. However, users are not provided with a dedicated emergency preparedness section that helps them act on the generated risk assessment.
For example, when a location is identified as having a high Flood Risk, Heat Risk, Drought Risk, or Cyclone Risk, users can see the risk score but do not receive emergency contact information, preparedness tracking, or actionable emergency guidance in a centralized interface.
Proposed Solution
Add a Smart Emergency Preparedness Center below the Safety Recommendations section and above the 5-Day Weather & Risk Forecast section.
The feature will include:
- Risk Status Banner displaying the highest detected risk with severity-based styling.
- Dynamic Emergency Contacts Panel based on the identified risk category.
- Interactive Preparedness Checklist with risk-specific actions.
- Emergency Readiness Score calculated from completed checklist items.
- Utility actions such as copying emergency contacts and preparedness information.
The implementation will be completed in phases, with the initial version focusing on the banner, contacts panel, checklist, and readiness score.
Use Case
This feature will help users:
- Quickly access emergency contacts during climate-related events.
- Understand what actions should be taken based on the detected risk.
- Track preparedness using an interactive checklist.
- Improve readiness during flood, heatwave, drought, and cyclone conditions.
