Welcome to the inspect-certificate project! This tool helps you examine TLS certificates. It supports clear formats, making it easy for anyone to understand.

To get started, visit the Releases page below. This page has the latest version available for download.

Download Latest Release

  1. Click the link above to go to the Releases page.

  2. Scroll down to find the most recent release.

  3. Choose the file that fits your operating system:

    • For Windows: Download inspect-certificate.exe.
    • For macOS: Download inspect-certificate.dmg.
    • For Linux: Download the appropriate .tar.gz file.

  4. Once the download completes, install the application:

    • Windows: Double-click the .exe file.
    • macOS: Open the .dmg file and drag the app to your Applications folder.
    • Linux: Extract the .tar.gz file and follow the installation instructions inside.

💻 System Requirements

  • Operating System:

    • Windows 10 or later
    • macOS 10.12 (Sierra) or later
    • A recent Linux distribution

  • Disk Space: At least 50 MB available

  • RAM: 1 GB minimum

    • On Windows and macOS, find the application in your Start Menu or Applications folder.
    • On Linux, run it from the terminal by navigating to the extracted folder.

    • You can input a URL or provide a path to a certificate file.
    • For example, if you want to check a website's certificate, type https://example.com.

  3. Choose Output Format:

    • You can select between OpenSSL-style or human-readable formats using the application menu.

  4. Run the Inspection:

    • Click the Inspect button. The results will display in the app.
