Lab 1 no longer works after upgrading to HTMX 2.0

The hx-on: attribute doesn't seem to propagate the CLOSE_MODAL_EVENT correctly after upgrading HTMX to 2.0

To be more specific, POSTed edits and create work; however, the information isn't displayed correctly within the UI until a full page refresh.
