More tests

Some trivial cases are tested by the documentation examples. More testing is done manually, by running the examples and reading the logs.

However, some automated tests for non-trivial scenarios, like reloading of configurations, errors, etc, would be very nice.

At least some of these should be easy to write.

As for the ones that are not easy to write, there'll need to be some design (or try to find some other projects doing something similar) on how to test it. Things like going into background, reloading config files and changing users under which the process runs is non-trivial to set up.
