Flux 2.7.0 Helmrelease namespace bump, breaks the Weave-gitops ui

Describe the bug

The UI cant resolve HelmReleases after the Flux 2.7.0 deprecation of the helm.toolkit.fluxcd.io/v2beta1 namespace.

Helmreleases are now namepaced in helm.toolkit.fluxcd.io/v2

Environment

• Weave-Gitops Version
  0.38 / helm chart version 4.0.36
• Flux Version
  2.7.0

I have also noticed this. It should be quite easy to fix, but our release process is currently broken....

Oh no. Are you a maintainer here ... anything I can do to help? Release process and tooling is part of what I work on as a freelancer. And I could see that the project needed contributors.

Not really. The issue has been fixed on the default branch, but we are still struggling with release automation.

Think it's time to look elsewhere. E.g Flux Operator

Release mechanism here is insane, i tried to understand how it works in order to make everything right but eventually I gave up. I made a very simple workflow which triggers dockerfile building when new tag is created.

v0.39.0-rc.3 has everything what was merged into the main branch since Feb 25, 2025, previous pre-release. It should support flux >2.7.0, at least it works for me even so feels slower than before.

I expect this to be a temporay solution, hope weave devs will release new version soon.

In case someone else needs working UI as well feel free to use.

I guess that's what should be done here as well if no one knows how the release process works and it's not fixable for so long time. Maybe it's time to start from scratch with the simplest approach and extend it. That's not so unusual in IT world ;)
