JSHintToggle not working?

I've tried various flavors of "JSHintToggle" in my vimrc (and in an "after"), but I can't seem to turn off the plugin.

I simply want to have JSHint invoked on command, not automatically...

Maybe I'm missing something?

On OSX MacVim

Do you have anything else doing lint that may have overridden this? What other plugins are you using?

CORRECTION: It does have an effect, but not immediately. It seems to go away once I open a new pane with a javascript document. Maybe because this triggers another linting run, which somehow clears the cached markup on the original document?

+1 - I am on OSX MacVim, run in the terminal, and invoking :JSHintToggle has no apparent effect. The errors and warnings are still highlighted.
