This error is occurring when apply method is called on acl, retrieved from Folder object
aclEntry = ActiveCMIS::AclEntry.new(auth.user,auth.auths, false)
array << aclEntry
acl.grant_permission(auth.user,auth.auths)
acl.apply

Without the full trace, we can only see bugs in your code unfortunately. The closest place I can find to this is

    def convert_principal(principal)
      case principal
      when :anonymous
        anonymous_user
      when :world
        world
      when anonymous_user
        :anonymous
      when world_user
        :world
      else
        principal
      end
    end

... which should possibly be returning :world as per world_user
