I'm getting this error on Debian 12 when I try running clipcatd. The configs are from the README:

I tried running it as root, and I think it run but I got errors about missing configurations. I got lazy to make configurations for root user and gave up. I found clipmenu tho.

Depending on how you want to look at it this is either a "bug" in the config files or a Layer 8 Error...

You need to dig through the config files and replace all the generic placeholders like the "<user-id>" in the string "/run/user/<user-id>/clipcatd.pid" with actual values.
