Country gets lost on linkhandler t3://-links from RTE

Page is correctly called with language and country. But for links to pages from RTE (t3:// links) the country gets lost in the destination-url - only the language is included.

I'm having issues with redirects not working but leading to a 404. I suspect since the target uses t3://-links as well this might be related here. So if the redirect itself is correclty resolved the target-URL cannot be built since the country gets lost.
