During my internship at Loom Tex Exports, Karur, I worked as a Data Analyst focusing on the operational data across the PPC, ERP, and HR departments. The main goal was to analyze, visualize, and help optimize workflows in the garment and textile production process — from Sales Orders (SO) to Packing and Dispatch.
ERP: Enterprise Resource Planning
PPC: Production Planning and Control
- Collected raw data from various departments (PPC, ERP, HR, etc.).
- Cleaned and standardized datasets using Excel, Google Sheets, and Python (Pandas/NumPy) to handle missing values, inconsistent formats, and large data volumes efficiently.
- Dealt with missing values, data type mismatches, and inconsistent entries.
- Designed interactive dashboards and visual reports using Excel and Power BI for department heads and management.
- KPIs Tracked:
- Order Fulfillment Rates
- Production Delays
- Quality Inspection Status
- Dispatch Turnaround Times
- Documented the end-to-end production flow:
- Yarn ➝ Dyeing ➝ Weaving ➝ Fabric Purchase ➝ Job Work ➝ Packing ➝ Dispatch
- Identified bottlenecks and inefficiencies in task sequences.
- Microsoft Excel
- Power BI
- Google Sheets
- Python (Pandas, NumPy)
- Delivered actionable insights to improve turnaround times and reduce operational delays.
- Leveraged Python to automate parts of the data cleaning process, improving efficiency and accuracy in handling large datasets.
- Created a complete analytical pipeline: Data Cleaning → Visualization → Reporting → Optimization Suggestions.
This internship offered hands-on experience in applying data analytics within a live industrial setting. It strengthened my skills in data handling, dashboard creation, and operational analysis, while deepening my understanding of the textile export industry
