This repository contains R scripts to support extracting information from the LANDFIRE Biophysical Settings (BpS) models and model descriptions.
The script 1_GenerateClassCrosswalk.R creates a .csv table with succession class information (i.e., class, cover type, structural stage, maximum tree size class, and description) based on the LANDFIRE reference condition model descriptions. The script takes as input a folder with Word documents describing each BpS model. Files are available for direct download here.
The script 2_GenerateReferenceConditionTable.R creates a .csv table with 5 indicators used to validate that the LANDFIRE reference condition models produce identical results following SyncroSim and ST-Sim software version upgrades. The script takes as input the .csv file produced by 1_GenerateClassCrosswalk.R, a tabular dataset on fire regime calculations available from the repository, and a ST-Sim library available for direct download here.
