A values-first variant of the pairwise voting helper (sibling to the project-based test in the other PR). Instead of comparing projects — which assumes you already know them — the user weighs short "I care about…" value statements, and their picks map back onto the projects behind those values to suggest a point distribution.

Flow

  • "Match your values" button (New badge) next to "Distribute Equally" on the vote page.
  • Modal: header "I care about…", two value statements to choose between, plus a smaller "I value both equally" option.
  • Picks tally into project points → pre-fills the vote form (reviewed/edited/cast as normal). No on-chain change.

The value set (agreed)

16 cards: 8 solo (each project's distinct angle) + two cluster lists of 4 (different pairings). Every project appears in exactly 3 cards → equal exposure, and no project pair repeats across the two cluster lists. See valueCards.ts.

  • "I value both equally" credits every project behind both statements.
  • Scoring: a project's points = total wins of the cards it appears in (win-count / margin-aware).

Notes

  • Balanced matchup schedule, frozen on mount (no flicker); avoids self- and shared-project matchups. ~16 quick picks (each card ~2×) — tunable.
  • Reuses the fixes from the project-based test: no button pop-in, shared column width, corner "New" badge.
  • Not runtime-tested without a wallet with voting power — verify the flow on the deploy preview.
  • Button label "Match your values" is easy to rename.

Verified: tsc --noEmit and next lint clean.

A variant of the pairwise test where the user weighs short "I care about…"
value statements instead of projects. Each statement maps to 1-2 projects;
picks are tallied into a suggested point distribution that pre-fills the vote
form (no on-chain change).

- valueCards.ts: 16 cards (8 solo + 2 cluster lists), every project in exactly
3 cards → equal exposure, no pair repeats across the cluster lists.
- ValueTestHelper.tsx: 8-question modal with title and explanation
("Distribute points based on your values") on top and "I care about…" just
above the two choices; a smaller "I value both equally" option credits all
projects behind both statements; balanced schedule frozen on mount; avoids
self/shared-project matchups; closed via the × (no separate skip link).
- Governance: "Help Me Choose" button (New badge) left of Distribute Equally
seeds voteFormState; reuses the pop-in / width / badge fixes.
