Boolean search support?

Not sure whether this is important, but I heard many professional searchers (such as librarians) prefer to use boolean queries, and they can formulate really complex boolean search queries (although regular web search engine users rarely do so). I think the system is built for special groups of users, and probably involve users of this type.
