Pull in active branch

I see @lytedev has been iterating a bit on the bender framework. It looks like a good time to pull that code into the main branch. ❤️

Weird that folks notice these things!

Not sure that all of these changes are inline with bender's goals, such as multiline commands and a :get_state handler, but there are minor changes/improvements here and there.

I can see more changes being pushed here. I must admit I'm no longer maintaining this project as I built it a long time ago when I was using Matrix but since I no longer use that I no longer maintain this tool. Feel free to fork this and if there is a well maintained fork you can let me know and I'll just link to it from my README.md if it helps.

Somebody should probably also tell the Matrix folks to remove this link from their site since I'm not maintaining this anymore https://matrix.org/docs/projects/other/bender.html
