The player gets a playlist button that opens the box's MPD queue with the playing track marked; tapping a row goes there. The queue is never published, so `playermpd.get_queue` is asked once per queue change rather than polled — it is a synchronous MPD call on the socket the box shares with its card reader. The box has no jump-to-position command upstream: `playermpd.play` takes no `pos`, and the rejected call doubles as a free capability probe because the TypeError happens before the body runs. Where the probe fails, Coil steps through the queue one track at a time, which needs shuffle off and reports where it stopped rather than claiming to have arrived. The publisher's last-value cache replays the message that set the timer, carrying the seconds left at that moment and no timestamp to date it by. Backgrounding the app closes the session, so the new one opened on the way back read that replay as current news and restarted the countdown from the top — a 30-minute timer read 30:00 again on every return, while the box itself was counting down correctly all along. Every connection now asks `get_state` outright, which also covers the case where the cache has nothing to replay and the line simply went missing. A timer publish arriving within two seconds of the SUB socket opening asks the same question instead of being believed: a replay and a change made that same second are indistinguishable, and asking is right for both.
