Is this safe to deploy without #6 being merged?

The changes made in #6 should also reside in this. Ref, last commit by Trond in this branch and that branch.
I pulled the changes he did into this branch earlier to be able to continue my work here.

So as I see it we have two options. First merge #6, then merge this and handle the conflicts.
Or merge this that should include the changes made in #6 .
