Positions swapping sometimes does weird things?

The Shiny and Chrome events in particular seem prone to not actually having the racer end up ahead. We've also seen a loss where Tanaka came up from 3rd into 1st after Cherry lost her event from 2nd, which pushed the player from 1st to 2nd.
