Requirements

  • I have added media to this PR or it does not require an ingame showcase.

Breaking changes

Combining this trait with any natural trait results in a free language. As natural language traits are limit one the points granted by this trait were reduced by one to account for the free replacement language.

Changelog

🆑 sprkl

  • add: Added the Foreign Origin trait. A clean slate for customizing languages.

Are there species that do not have a natural language? If so, might be worth conflicting them so it's not just free points. I'm not sure if there is such a species though...

As far as I'm aware every species grants at least one extra language. Humans get Sol Common, Rodentia get Mouse, etc.

For some reason, you do not speak this station's primary language.
Instead, you have been issued a translator that only you can use.

"Foreign origin" doesn't make sense as "foreigner" already implies that you come from a different part of the universe where tau-ceti is not the common tongue. Maybe rename it to "Tau-ceti native" or something?

Or maybe like "Species Non-Native" or "No Natural Tongue"

Took a look at terms for a generational loss of language. Settled on Cultural Disconnect.
