🚀 Getting Started

Prerequisites

• Node.js (v18 or higher)
• Bun (for frontend) or npm
• MongoDB database
• Cloudinary account

Environment Variables

Create a .env file in the backend directory:

MONGODB_URI=your_mongodb_connection_string
CLOUDINARY_CLOUD_NAME=your_cloudinary_cloud_name
CLOUDINARY_API_KEY=your_cloudinary_api_key
CLOUDINARY_API_SECRET=your_cloudinary_api_secret

Installation & Setup

1. Clone the repository

   git clone https://github.com/GhanshyamSharma122/shareany.git
   cd shareany

2. Setup Backend

   cd backend
   npm install
   npm run dev

3. Setup Frontend

   cd _frontend
   bun install
   bun run dev

The application will be available at:

• Frontend: http://localhost:8080
• Backend API: http://localhost:5000

Upload Data

POST /

Retrieve Data

🔧 How It Works

1. Upload: Users can upload files and/or text content
2. Keyword Generation: System generates a unique keyword using random-words library
3. Storage: Files are uploaded to Cloudinary, metadata stored in MongoDB
4. Sharing: Users receive a unique link containing the keyword
5. Retrieval: Others can access content using the shared link
6. Auto-Cleanup: cleanUP service runs every 24 hours to delete expired content

🔒 Security Features

• Auto-Expiry: All data automatically deleted after 24 hours
• Unique Keywords: Random word generation prevents guessing
• CORS Protection: Configured for secure cross-origin requests
• File Type Validation: Handled by Cloudinary
• Temporary Storage: Local files deleted immediately after upload

🚀 Deployment

Frontend (Vercel)

The frontend is configured for Vercel deployment with:

• vercel.json for routing
• _redirects for SPA support

Backend (Render/Railway/Heroku)

• Update the API_URL in SimpleShareAny.tsx
• Ensure environment variables are set
• MongoDB and Cloudinary services are accessible
