I have a site with ~500,000 messages that have never been purged. I want to start purging old messages, but there is no way currently to batch purge.
I have thus created a drush command,
message-purgeto batch purge old messages.I have used this new command successfully on my live site to purge over 400,000 messages.
Please review and merge if the pull request is acceptable.
