Umbraco already has this:

But it is very basic and does not have what Angular magic strings had. Your one is not much different really and both use Markdown.

People are needing the conditional logic etc.
Creating back office views is also more complicated now and I created this discussion:

In that discussion Liquid JS / Liquid .NET has come up. Liquid is open source and an easy syntax so if this was available in the back office you can do a bit more a lot easier.

yes its indeed very similar to what Umbraco offers out-of-the-box , actually it was first introduced as a Pull request,
the Pull request did not get approved because of having regular expressions which caused security concerns.

i might take a look at Liquid and see how to embed it here

I get that. You need that basic logic as most of the label use cases for example are things like a block list where you show a default name if no title added and if title exists show that etc. I am hoping Umbraco do follow up and replaces UFM with something more established and to then take it further to allow it to be used in views and easy to access data so those block views for example have a smaller barrier of entry so you can easily create some quicker basic output.
