I'd like to suggest that, to speed up the export process, there could be a configuration entry or export profile (format, new file name with path, protection combination (password, keys, etc... whichever could be automated)) inside the database which the plugin could access and perform the export accordingly.
The export profile(s) would be stored in an entry of the database, in a special folder assigned to the plugin, therefore it'd also be protected from outside and could be unique to each database.
We could have a 1-click export button to each profile and a regular one with manual configuration / wizard and then option to save the config into new profile or update an existing one.
This would allow us to distribute the database to multiple places with different credentials as a real backup solution.
To prevent malicious usage of the plugin, the function should not be accessed for triggers, etc., only from menu point created by the plugin (if this makes sense in the terms of security) and also, a forced status / notification window should appear about the process and must be acknowledged.
