## Breaking changes

- Land energy flux field `net_energy_flux` renamed to `surface_energy_flux`, with its sign flipped to positive upward (out of the slab). Custom land energy closures and any code reading the field must update; legacy `BucketHydrology`/`SlabEnergy`/`FractionalHumidity` configurations are otherwise unchanged (#323).
- ORCA dataset constructors renamed: `ORCA1` → `ORCAOne`, `ORCA12` → `ORCATwelfth`; new `ORCAQuarter` (eORCA025) added (#384).
- Freshwater fluxes now change ocean volume via a forcing in the free-surface equation; on free-surface-following grids the surface salt and heat fluxes become real content corrections rather than virtual fluxes (#244, #436).
