Kevin R. Haylett | Exploring Geofinitism

A journey through the finite mechanics of physics, language, and thought.

👋 Hello, I'm Kevin

I am an independent researcher exploring the foundational connections between philosophy, physics, and language through the lens of Finite Mechanics and Geofinitism.

My work strips away infinite abstractions to focus on finite, measurable axioms that govern complex systems—from the rhythm of a watch escapement to the attention mechanisms in large language models.

🔭 Core Areas of Exploration

1. Finite Mechanics

A framework re-examining physical reality through finite, measurable axioms rather than abstract infinities. This work challenges conventional foundations in physics to address puzzles like galaxy rotation curves and the perihelion of Mercury.

Key Concepts: Finite Axiomatic Systems, Nonlinear Dynamics, Geometric Foundations

2. Finite Language Modelling

Investigating the geometry of language and thought, interpreting transformer attention mechanisms as phase space embeddings.

Key Concepts: Transformer Architectures, Pairwise Phase Space Embedding, Meaning & Context

3. LLM Exploration

Using Large Language Models as tools for philosophical inquiry and software development, while probing their inner workings and the nature of meaning they construct.

Key Concepts: AI Interpretability, Neural Networks, Semantics
