Release list
Dynasty Engine 0.110
A bigger release than the version number usually means. The headline is a real bug: the tool was counting players as leaving your program who were never leaving at all, and it had been doing it in every dynasty since departures were first read.
The 167 phantom departures
CFB27 keeps a list of 224 players marked for the NFL draft. That list is a mock draft board, not a list of who is actually leaving: 32 names a round, always full, whoever the game happens to like. The real declarations are a much smaller set the game tracks separately, and this season that set held 57 players.
Dynasty Engine had been reading all 224 as departures. Around 167 players a season were being treated as gone when they were staying on rosters.
That number reached further than it looks, because departures feed everything downstream. Team needs, the Class Plan, projected departures, your budget book, and portal need reads were all working from a roster with holes that did not exist. Fixed, and verified against a real save (224 down to 57, matching the game's own count).
If your needs or budget look different after updating, this is why. They are right now.
Development was quietly running cold
Player progression had two problems that pulled in the same direction.
The correction system that keeps development on target was comparing two different kinds of average against each other. Because talent is not evenly spread, that made healthy position groups read as though they were running hot, so the tool pushed them down season after season. Over twelve simulated seasons it had settled into a permanent penalty on nearly every group.
Separately, the extra year of eligibility was doing nothing. Careers are five years now, but growth was still being measured against a four year shape, so the redshirt season passed without adding development.
Both are fixed. Elite players now peak and leave for the NFL rather than accumulating into redshirt seniors, and the very top of the league behaves like the real thing: a 99 is possible anywhere, rare, and usually gone before his last year.
Who leaves early for the draft
Early declarations were judging every player against a single overall rating, which quietly compared positions that are not comparable. The result was far too many quarterbacks going pro and far too few tight ends, linebackers and tackles.
Players are now judged against their own position. The same rating means different things at different spots, and the tool reads it that way. Total departures per season did not change, only who they are.
Coach perks
Some perks were carrying effects that nothing in the tool actually read. Nothing was lost by cleaning them up: those nodes were already paying you through their staff grades, which is the channel that matters now that in-game recruiting is off. Every perk effect the tool still hands out is one it genuinely uses.
Smaller fixes
- Scouting reports could settle into a pattern that gave away a prospect's true grade. Grades stay honestly uncertain now.
- A scouting beat that ran out of prospects could hold its slot for the rest of the cycle without filing anything. It now wraps up and frees the slot.
- Auto-pilot recruiting acts the moment you turn it on, instead of waiting until you happen to open the right screen. It asks first, since it rebuilds your board.
- The auto-pilot description was wrong about your NIL Deal Room. The high school side stays yours; the portal side does file real offers. The copy now says so.
- Pulse stopped asking you to fill an in-game recruiting board the tool does not use.
- If a previous session was refused because the mod was off, the next successful open now tells you which stretch of your dynasty the game was recruiting on its own.
Installing
Unzip, run the installer, and keep the included Dynasty-Engine-v0.100.fbmod applied in Frosty. The mod is unchanged from the last release. If you already have it applied, you do not need to do anything with it.
Windows SmartScreen will warn about an unrecognized publisher. The installer is not code signed, which is a deliberate choice, so that warning is expected. Choose More info and then Run anyway.
Your existing dynasties carry forward. The tool backs up its own database before updating it.
