v0.6.0: introducing Music Backup
- Minor cosmetic improvements and bugfixes
- New feature: music backup.
This feature provides an easy option to copy only the music referenced in your Rekordbox Library.
The pros versus the standard Rekordbox feature are the following:
- Speed: the feature is quite fast as it directly copies the files to the file system, not in a ZIP file. Moreover it can only copy new files if you want.
- Direct usage: the directory tree is preserved. Your files are usable right away
- Versatility: You can backup your music and your library independently
- Visibility: You can easily see where your DJ music is.
v0.5.1 - First public Graphical User Interface release
The new GUI has been developped to suit a wider range of users.
The command line usage has been removed.
How to use PRACT (now with a GUI) in a nutshell:
- Export your Rekordbox collection from the Pioneer DJ Rekordbox software (up to version 5.X). Within Rekordbox, choose File / Export collection in XML Format
- Start PRACT and choose File / Open. Then open your XML File
- Choose the Playlists you'd like to generate (Orphans, Missing, Duplicates...)
- Click "Process". The default output directory is "My Documents".
- Import the generated M3U8 playlists in Rekordbox and do your things
