Security & Safety Policy

Electrical Safety

This project involves 400 V DC and 48 V DC electrical systems.

  • 400 V DC is above the IEC 60479-1 threshold for ventricular fibrillation. Treat as lethal.
  • 48 V DC (SELV) is safer but not risk-free in wet environments.
  • Never work on live conductors without proper PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Always engage a licensed electrician for any physical installation.

Reporting a Safety Issue

If you find a design flaw that could cause electrical hazard, fire, or injury:

  1. Do not open a public GitHub issue.
  2. Email the maintainers directly (see repository contact info).
  3. We will acknowledge within 48 hours and coordinate a fix before public disclosure.

Reporting a Software Vulnerability

For firmware vulnerabilities (e.g. remote code execution on ESP32 nodes):

  1. Open a private security advisory via GitHub's security tab.
  2. Include: affected component, reproduction steps, potential impact.
  3. We aim to patch and disclose within 30 days.
