Summary

  • map native vision, direct/same-API routing, and optional official plan MCP status for all 12 built-in presets
  • replace broad provider claims with one thin official-source child manual per built-in
  • align the preset editor with shipped explicit vision providers and clear stale provider-coupled identity on explicit provider changes
  • preserve Codex-pool thinking across ordinary editor saves while keeping Codex-only account and service-tier controls narrow

Evidence and validation

  • 12 independent exact-model Sonnet audits, one per built-in, followed by a cross-preset synthesis
  • targeted preset-editor regressions for real Gemini and Codex-pool built-ins
  • go test ./internal/preset ./internal/tui -count=1
  • go test ./... -count=1
  • independent Terra final review: PASS-WITH-EXTERNAL-GATE, with no TUI-local blocker

Cross-PR gate

This is the TUI half of the every-adapter vision rollout. The companion kernel implementation is Lingtai-AI/lingtai-kernel#964. The pair has now been jointly validated; land the kernel companion before this TUI metadata/manual half.

Companion: Lingtai-AI/lingtai-kernel#964.

Kernel companion is now open: Lingtai-AI/lingtai-kernel#964

These two PRs describe one #957 vision contract and should be reviewed/landed together. No live rebuild, install, release, or deployment is part of this update.

Clarify that OpenRouter/custom try the current OpenAI-compatible route first and only use sanitized tool failure plus manual guidance for explicit alternatives.
