TargetMail - Bulk Email Application

TargetMail is a Full-stack web application designed to send bulk emails efficiently. It allows users to compose emails, import recipients from Excel files, and track the history of sent emails.

📦 Installation & Local Setup

Follow these steps to get the application running locally on your machine.

Prerequisites

• Node.js installed
• MongoDB Atlas Connection String
• Email Service Credentials (Gmail/SMTP)

1. Clone the Repository

git clone <repository-url>
cd <repository-folder>

2. Backend Setup

cd backend
npm install

Create a .env file in the backend directory:

PORT=5000
MONGO_URI=your_mongodb_connection_string
EMAIL_USER=your_email@gmail.com
EMAIL_PASS=your_app_password

Start the backend server:

npm run dev
# Server should run on http://localhost:5000

3. Frontend Setup

Open a new terminal via the root directory:

cd frontend
npm install

Start the frontend development server:

npm run dev
# App should run on http://localhost:5173

📝 Usage

1. Open the app in your browser.
2. Go to Compose.
3. Enter a subject and body.
4. Manually enter emails (comma-separated) or click Import from Excel to upload a recipient list.
5. Click Send Emails.
6. Check the History tab to see your log.
