Decide on persistent URIs

We need to create persistent URIs (PURIs) for several artifacts. Using PURIs is a good practice avoiding URI changes when e.g. hosting changes.
We need:

1. PURI prefix for MaterialsDCAT-AP itself, including human readable specification, class profiles, property profiles
2. PURI prefix for potential new terms (classes, properties), controlled vocabularies, etc.

Typical service for this is https://w3id.org, where a prefix such as https://w3id.org/MaterialsDCAT-AP needs to be registered and configured (using httpd redirect rules).

The question is what should be the string to be registered? MaterialsDCAT-AP, or something shorter?
