AniDiary uses two GitHub Actions workflows:
.github/workflows/android.yml— builds the signed Android release APK..github/workflows/static.yml— deploys thewww/directory to GitHub Pages for the live web demo.
AniDiary's Android release APK is built automatically with GitHub Actions using .github/workflows/android.yml.
The workflow runs on pushes to the main branch or can be started manually and:
- Checks out the repository.
- Sets up Node.js 22.
- Sets up Java 21.
- Installs the project dependencies with
npm ci. - Installs Capacitor Assets temporarily.
- Generates Android launcher icons from the repository resources.
- Synchronizes the Capacitor Android project.
- Applies the AniDiary Android version configuration.
- Decodes the release keystore from a GitHub Actions secret.
- Configures release signing using GitHub Actions secrets.
- Builds the signed Android release APK with Gradle.
- Copies the APK to
AniDiary-1.4.2-release.apk. - Removes the temporary signing keystore.
- Uploads the release APK as the
AniDiary-1.4.2-releaseGitHub Actions artifact.
The workflow expects these repository secrets:
KEYSTORE_BASE64KEYSTORE_PASSWORDKEY_ALIASKEY_PASSWORD
The signing keystore and passwords are not stored in the repository. The keystore is created temporarily during the workflow and removed after the build.
The generated APK can be downloaded from the workflow's Artifacts section after a successful build.
See .github/workflows/android.yml for the exact implementation.
Install the project dependencies:
npm ciSynchronize the Android project:
npx cap sync androidMost application changes can be made directly in:
www/index.html
The Android project can be opened in Android Studio or built using the included Gradle wrapper.
AniDiary stores anime diary data locally on the device for normal use. Export and import functionality allows users to create and restore their own JSON backups.
Anime poster images may use externally hosted image URLs, and the application loads its UI dependencies from CDN services.
