How do you restore star-history?

Hi,

A PR to my repo points your website to me. So I just wonder what is your 'another data source'? Is it trustable to provide authentic data? I saw my repo's star trend is more or less good, but the time alignment seems not exact.

Hey, I also had a pr on two of my projects (one got deleted soon after but the other is here) and they both pointed at this.
I'm reluctant to merge without a bit more info.

But I am still unsure where the data is actually coming from and how long you plan on maintaining this for.

This is not really a security concern, given this is just visualised data and there's no access/token needed, it's more of a quality check.

I have partial snapshots of the original data from Github itself, and interpolate the missing data points in between. If your repo is large enough, it will be extremely precise, but may be a bit lacking when under 200, 100 or even 50 total stars. This may explain why there are minor differences. I'm continuously crawling repository metadata to get and store the latest stargazer count, so from now on it will only get more accurate.

I plan on maintaining for as long as people depend on it
