Android BLE: a peer that switches Bluetooth off stays a neighbour for over a minute #513
this phone keeps the peer as a Bluetooth neighbour (header "BLE, 1") for over a minute. In the test it was still listed at 69 s.
The links close with status 0, which the facade treats as a clean disconnect ("peer likely returns, deviceId mapping kept"). So blePeerLost waits for the reconnect attempts to run out. Messages sent meanwhile are retried, and they deliver when the peer returns (4/4 each way in the test).
The open question is whether a clean disconnect with no live link left, and no reconnect within N seconds, should report the peer lost sooner. Apps show "nearby" from neighbor_lost. iOS behaviour for the same case is untested.
