The calculator previously mixed healthcare and optional early-education values into its net-income headline, and final cost accounting was repeated in the browser. It now leads with household financial resources (including SNAP), shows service values and combined resources separately, and uses versioned backend accounting for both scalar and grid results. Employer insurance remains an eligibility input, independently of presentation.
US accounting recognizes childcare assistance as the reduction in family spending, preserves provider payments and Vermont copays, and resolves aggregate composition from the pinned model. The UK adapter retains public-v1 policy calculations and applies the existing rent deduction once. Legacy US clients remain compatible.
Requests cancel when inputs change and time out with actionable errors. Scalar and chart failures have separate retries; chart failure preserves household results. Pull-request CI runs locked backend checks, frontend tests against the local pinned model, lint, and a production build. External UK integration checks have a separate manual workflow.
Validation: local frontend release suite (218 tests), backend suite (38 tests), 76 external UK integration tests, plus 12 focused protocol regressions after tightening required-field validation; production build; lint (0 errors, 11 existing warnings). Browser validation includes the California shared-household example, financial grid, and individual employer-insurance input. Independent review: complete, no findings. Household-composition assumptions are unchanged and remain disclosed.
