First-party Prairie metadata plugin
backed by TheTVDB. It provides series, season, and episode metadata and resolves
tvdb:// artwork references.
TVDB Metadata is installed as a default Prairie plugin. Enter a TheTVDB v4 API
key in the plugin's api_key setting, then add or enable TVDB in a
television library's metadata provider chain. Requests fail with a
"missing API key" error until a key is configured.
The plugin's Configure tab has a Metadata Proxy section. Turning it on and
supplying a proxy URL routes every TVDB request through a TVDB-compatible
caching proxy instead of api4.thetvdb.com. Prairie does not operate a shared
proxy, so there is no default URL; with the switch on and the URL blank, the
plugin keeps calling TVDB directly. The proxy receives your TVDB API key, so its
URL must use https; plain http is accepted only for localhost or a loopback
address. When the proxy is busy, the plugin waits as long as its Retry-After
header asks, until either the request's deadline or a 10-minute cap on total
waiting for that request is reached, whichever comes first. Saving the setting
reloads the plugin; no server restart is needed.
This repository consumes github.com/prairie-server/prairie-plugin-sdk as a normal Go module dependency. CI and release builds run with GOWORK=off and expect the SDK version in go.mod to resolve from a published semver tag.
For local multi-repository development, use a go.work file that points at a
sibling SDK checkout. Do not commit machine-local filesystem replacements.
go test ./...
go build .Read CONTRIBUTING.md before opening a pull request. Matching, metadata mapping, image resolution, configuration, or advertised capability changes should start as an issue.
