fix(tizen): diagnose direct-play seek failures; videohole 0.6.0 fork; HAProxy note - #118
Conversation
Verbatim copy from pub.dev so the following patch diffs cleanly. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Direct-play seeks fail with a bare "Player seek to failed"; the real reason from player_set_play_position only went to dlog, which retail TVs block. Patch the vendored plugin to: - return the native error, ret code and player state in the SeekTo FlutterError message (reaches reportDiagnostic via PlatformException) - tee LOG_INFO/WARN/ERROR to stderr, which flutter-tizen forwards over --tizen-logging-port Point prairie_tizen at the path fork. The lockfile also picks up the previously missing path_provider_tizen entry. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
videohole 0.6.0 serializes seeks and guards native overlap; recording it in the reason tells us whether that upgrade would address our failures. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Replaces the 0.5.9 copy (and its patch) with the verbatim pub.dev 0.6.0 release; the Prairie patch is re-applied on top in the next commit. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
0.6.0 moved to Dart FFI, so the reason now travels through a new ffi_get_last_seek_error() and is appended to the FFI_SEEK_TO_FAILED PlatformException message. 0.6.0's own is_seeking_ guard reports as "seek already in progress", which replaces our seek_in_flight flag. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
shared_preferences_tizen ^2.3.5, flutter_secure_storage_tizen ^0.1.6, device_info_plus_tizen ^1.4.3, plus in-range transitive upgrades. Remaining outdated packages (riverpod 3, flutter_secure_storage 11) are held by prairie_core, which is shared with the webOS Dart 3.10 build. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
Stream URLs carry the st= auth token and plugin logs now leave the device via stderr; log only the path. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
…V logging Direct-play seeks failed with "Invalid state" because HAProxy lowercases response header names and the TV's native player then treats the stream as unseekable. Document the h1-case-adjust fix, how to verify it, and how to get native plugin logs from a retail TV. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

Sensitive Data Exposure
Exploitability: Difficult
CWE: CWE-532 — Insertion of Sensitive Information into Log File
Redact DRM URLs and credentials before logging them. license_server_url_ is read from drm_configs()["licenseServerUrl"], logged directly by DrmManager, and passed to DrmLicenseHelper, which logs http_url without redaction. SetHttpHeader also logs raw cookie and custom-header values. Redact URL query parameters and remove credential values from INFO logs.

Fixed in 49a0f4c. License URLs are now logged through RedactUriForLog (query stripped) in both DrmManager and DrmLicenseHelper. The cookie and custom-header values are logged at DEBUG, which only goes to dlog (blocked on retail TVs) and isn't teed to stderr, so they don't leave the device.

@JonahMMay, thanks for clarifying the DEBUG logging behavior. I verified that both license URL logs now use RedactUriForLog. I also confirmed that LOG_DEBUG is not copied to stderr.
However, verification of the credential fix failed. In flutter/packages/video_player_videohole/tizen/src/drm_license_helper.cc, these logs remain:
- Line 362:
LOG_INFOprints the cookie value. - Line 371:
LOG_INFOprints the custom-header value. - Line 601:
INFO_CURL_HEADERS(headers)prints the full header list throughLOG_INFO.
These calls still write credential values to stderr. Please remove or redact those values, including the header-list output, then request another check. This finding remains open.

Learning: In Prairie-Server/prairie-smarttv, flutter/packages/video_player_videohole/tizen/src/log.h defines LOG_DEBUG as dlog-only, while LOG_INFO, LOG_WARN, and LOG_ERROR also write to stderr. JonahMMay reports that retail Tizen TVs block dlog. Distinguish DEBUG-only logs from stderr logs when reviewing sensitive-data exposure in this fork.

Learning: Prairie does not play DRM content or pass drmConfigs. Its vendored video_player_videohole 0.6.0 fork at flutter/packages/video_player_videohole limits patches to app-reachable paths and issues introduced or worsened by the stderr log tee, to keep upstream resynchronization simple. Unused upstream DRM lifetime and threading issues should be reported upstream rather than treated as required fork changes.
You are interacting with an AI system.
The stderr log tee now ships plugin logs off the device, so: - redact query strings in DRM license URL logs (shared RedactUriForLog) - log only the length of the binary DRM challenge (was %s over-read) Also fix int64_t window-geometry format specifiers (UB) and guard the live-duration parse against malformed responses. DRM lifetime/threading findings are upstream issues on paths the app does not use (no DRM content); left unchanged to stay close to upstream. Direct-play seeks on Tizen were failing on every title (resume from 0, "Player seek to failed"). This PR adds the diagnostics that found the cause, moves to videohole 0.6.0, and documents the fix, which is proxy config rather than app code.
Root cause
The TV's native player (capi-media-player) decides from the first response whether an HTTP source is seekable. HAProxy lowercases response header names over HTTP/1 (
accept-ranges,content-range, ...), so the player treated the stream as unseekable and rejected everyplayer_set_play_positionwithInvalid state, in READY and PLAYING alike. Server logs showed oneRange: bytes=0-request per session. The same stream fetched straight from the backend (canonical-case headers) seeks fine on the TV. The fix ish1-case-adjustin HAProxy; see the new "Tizen troubleshooting" section influtter/README.md.Changes

The pristine copy is its own commit, so the patch diffs cleanly.seekTofailures carry the native reason and player state (newffi_get_last_seek_error), e.g.player_set_play_position(1008161) failed: Invalid state (ret=0xfe6c0022, state=READY). The lockfile also gains the previously missingpath_provider_tizenentry. Still held back: riverpod 3 andflutter_secure_storage11, pinned byprairie_core's constraints because it's shared with the webOS build (Dart 3.10).The branch also contains the earlier 0.5.9-based patch commits, superseded by the 0.6.0 port.
