Screen saver (black screen) & proximity issue with X2i model #76
I installed the fix for the brightness a couple of days ago and since then the proximity of my XL display is behaving fine! It wakes up when I move closer to the screen. For my X2i it only wakes up the screensaver when I "wave" my hand at 10-20cm of the screen. The screensaver I use is the "digital clock". Because the other screensaver (screen off) is not working (but it works on my XL display).
What can I test/try to help to find out the two issues:
ability to use the screensaver to turn screen off
fix proximity so it would wake up when I move 1m in front of the display and keeps on while moving.
I checked the troubleshooting guide and notices there were some mentioning about the X2i display and its proximity sensor but don't know what I can do to fix it. Should I reformat the device, install newer firmware, add extra permissions that I'm not aware off?
hi @glamorous, the screen off screensaver issue is a bit vague... could you elaborate? does it not turn the screen off or does it not wake back up?
also for the x2i, ive made some small changes to how the proximity sensor is handled which might fix it... but it could also just be a hardware limitation of the device. definitely give the new update a try!
It does not turn the screen down (the "screensaver" doesn't kick in). It only works outside the app by setting a timeout in the general settings of the device. It works on the XL like advertised in the docs, but the X2i, it only works with the digital clock.
I just installed the latest version and will give it a try
