VYPR is a secure, standards-aligned data sanitization toolkit targeting Windows, Linux, Android (root), and offline bootable environments. It focuses on safe erasure for modern storage (HDD/SSD/NVMe/eMMC/UFS), verification, and tamper-proof certification.
This repository currently includes:
- Rust core wipe engine (prototype) for file/directory wiping and verification
- Rust CLI wrapper emitting JSON reports
- JSON schema for reports
- Python certifier/verifier stubs for digital signatures and PDF certificates
- Minimal PyQt GUI stub (streams CLI progress)
Phase 1–2 prototypes. Device-level erase, Android, and bootable ISO will follow.

- Rust (rustup). On Windows, install rustup from

cargo build --workspaceWipes files/directories using NIST Clear (single pass pseudorandom) with verification, and outputs a JSON report.
# DANGEROUS: use only on expendable test data

Exit code is non-zero if any entry failed.

python gui/pyqt/main.pyThis tool irreversibly overwrites data when run with confirmation flags. Use ONLY on expendable data and test media. The prototype performs file/directory wiping; device-level wiping (HDD/SSD/NVMe/eMMC/UFS, HPA/DCO, sanitize/crypto-erase) requires administrative privileges and careful hardware handling and will be added later.
See docs/ISO.md and docs/ENTERPRISE.md. Broader methods (DoD, Gutmann, crypto erase), drive detection, Android, and bootable ISO will follow in later phases.
